Microneedling creates microscopic openings in the surface of the skin. It causes the tissue to develop new collagen and elastin, resulting in smoother, firmer skin. The treatment is completely non-surgical and requires little downtime.
Skin Pen is the first FDA micro needling pen. Microneedling is a type of collagen induction therapy in which small, sterilized needles puncture the skin, which triggers the healing progress and collagen regrowth. It helps with the appearance of line lines and wrinkles, scaring, texture, hyperpigmentation.

Book OnlineWhat is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve the appearance and texture of your skin. It effectively addresses:
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Hyperpigmentation
- Sun damage
- Mild skin laxity
- Acne scars
- Enlarged pores
- Rough skin texture
- Dull or uneven skin tone
You may also hear microneedling referred to as percutaneous collagen induction. This name reflects the treatment’s ability to stimulate collagen production in the skin. Collagen, a key structural protein, helps maintain firm, youthful skin but naturally decreases with age. By encouraging the creation of collagen and elastin, microneedling leads to smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.
The Microneedling Process
Modern microneedling treatments use an automated, pen-like device with a circular array of fine needles. This handheld tool is adjustable, allowing the provider to set the depth of needle penetration to suit your unique skin needs.
As the device glides over the skin, the needles create tiny micro-channels in the epidermis. These controlled micro-injuries trigger the body’s natural healing process without causing actual damage to surrounding tissue.
Enhancing topical absorption: One added benefit of microneedling is its ability to improve the absorption of skin care products. The micro-channels created during the procedure allow for deeper penetration of nourishing creams, serums, and other topical treatments selected by you and your provider.
How Long Does it Take to Heal from Microneedling?
Although microneedling is minimally invasive, you can expect your skin to appear red or flushed for 24 to 72 hours after the procedure. During this time, avoid applying facial makeup—even if you’re tempted to cover the redness. Since your pores are open and more absorbent post-treatment, applying makeup could clog them and hinder the healing process.
In the first 24 to 48 hours, it’s normal to experience temporary side effects such as dryness, flaking, mild swelling, and small bumps. Be sure to follow our aftercare instructions carefully, including the use of recommended moisturizers and gentle cleansers.
Your skin will begin to look more refreshed and radiant within a few days, with continued improvements over the following weeks as new collagen and elastin form.
